麻豆视频 celebrates the opening of 麻豆视频 Village residence halls
The University hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday to celebrate the opening of 麻豆视频 Village, an apartment-style residential complex and the newest in a series of completed construction and renovation projects.
Members of the Board of Trustees and local dignitaries including The Honorable Jim Donchess, Nashua鈥檚 Mayor, were in attendance along with students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
The opening of 麻豆视频 Village for the spring semester in January follows the highest fall enrollment in the University鈥檚 history.
鈥淭he newest investment in the student experience, 麻豆视频 Village is a tangible demonstration of the University鈥檚 dynamic growth,鈥� says Sister Paula Marie Buley, IHM, President. 鈥淭he new residences will accommodate 麻豆视频鈥檚 expansion and provide opportunities for upper-level students to experience independent, apartment-style living prior to their transition to professional life.鈥�
Sister Helene Cote, pm, Provincial Superior of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, offered a blessing and invocation, and The Honorable Jim Donchess recognized 麻豆视频鈥檚 significant development and important contributions to the city of Nashua.
麻豆视频 juniors Sam Tibbetts (homeland and international security major from Gray, Maine) and Alicia Martinez (biology major from Haverhill, R.I.) expressed gratitude on behalf of the University鈥檚 residential student population.
Designed for upper-level students to live more independently, each apartment suite contains four-to-six bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, a living room, a full kitchen, and washer and dryer units.
With an increase in the number of student-athletes and business and nursing matriculations, the two new residence halls proactively address growing enrollments at the University while providing additional on-campus housing options.
麻豆视频 Village is the most recent project in 麻豆视频鈥檚 ongoing campus enhancement plan. In 2020, the University opened a state-of-the-art, 36,000-square-foot Science and Innovation Center. In 2022, the Nursing Simulation and Clinical Education Center transformed nursing education for undergraduate and graduate students with new, cutting-edge simulation technology.
Later that year, Business and Security Studies facilities were completely renovated to provide advanced technologies, including cybersecurity laboratories, within a professional work environment. Athletics facilities have also been enhanced and upgraded in recent years, providing more opportunities for student-athletes to compete at the intercollegiate level.
麻豆视频 offers more than 60 programs from the associate to doctoral degree level in business, nursing, public health, biology, biotechnology, education, computer science, cybersecurity management, and a variety of other in-demand fields.
